  • United Nations Environmental Programme - UNEP is built on a heritage of service to the environment. UNEP provides an integrative and interactive mechanism through which a large number of separate efforts by intergovernmental, non-governmental, national and regional bodies in the service of the environment are reinforced and interrelated.
     
  • Greenpeace - An independent campaigning organization which uses non-violent - creative confrontation to expose global environmental problems for a peaceful future, with offices around the world.
     
  • Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change - The role of the IPCC is to assess the scientific, technical and socio-economic information relevant for the understanding of the risk of human-induced climate change. It does not carry out new research nor does it monitor climate related data. It bases its assessment mainly on published and peer reviewed scientific technical literature.
     
  • Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement - On April 15, 1972, Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau and President Richard Nixon met to sign the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement. This milestone event committed Canada and the United States to control pollution in the Great Lakes and cleaning up waste waters from industries and communities.

  • EnviroLink Network - Links to resources organized by more than 40 topics (listed in "More Related Topics") -- some scientific (e.g., Climate Change, Greenhouse Effect, Water Quality), and some social (e.g., Environmental Activism, Environmental Justice, Environmental Ethics).   • World Resources Institute - Regional resources include World Resources Institute Environmental Data reports on each country plus special reports about many countries. "Internet Resources" provides annotated lists of links on subjects including agriculture, biodiversity, oceans and coasts, water management, climate change, forests, economics, and global trends.
